Information Officers (IOs) from member-agencies of the Cagayan Valley Regional Development Council (RDC2) elected the officials and sectoral representatives of the Council’s Speakers Bureau for the 2025-2028 term during its meeting on December 4, 2025 at the Pamegafanan Hall, DEPDev Regional Office 2, Tuguegarao City.

As part of the Bureau’s reorganization efforts, the members elected Dr. Amir M. Aquino of the Department of Education (DepEd2) as Chair, and RD Angely L. Mercado of the Philippine Information Agency (PIA2) as Co-Chair.

The RDC2’s Sectoral Committees were elected team leaders from each group representing the member-agencies of the, namely: Ms. Jhoana Bassig of the Department of Agriculture (DA) for the economic sector; Ms. Maricel Asejo of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) for the infrastructure sector; Ms. Ma. Querima Mae Acosta of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) for the development administration sector; and Ms. Hannah Grace Mallillin-Urata of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for the social sector.

Joined by other agencies’ IOs from respective committees, they will serve as spokespersons tasked to oversee and implement sectoral advocacy activities of the Cagayan Valley Regional Development Plan (CVRDP) 2023-2028 and other relevant activities of the Committee on Development Administration and Communication (CODAC) and the RDC2. The Speakers Bureau’s composition will be confirmed during the first quarter regular business meeting of CODAC next year.

The Committee also reviewed the midterm update of the CVRDP 2023-2028 during the meeting. The agenda for discussion includes the region’s major accomplishments and development potentials, highlighting the Bureau’s key role in strategic information dissemination to support its implementation until 2028.

DEPDev2 Assistant Regional Director Leomar C. Israel presided over the meeting. In his opening message, he challenged the Bureau to intensify its efforts in disseminating and localizing the Plan’s goals, strategies, and targets to the stakeholders and the general public. This ensures accurate development information and inclusive stakeholders’ participation towards achieving a 𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘢𝘨, 𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘩𝘢𝘸𝘢, 𝘢𝘵 𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘢𝘨 𝘯𝘢 𝘣𝘶𝘩𝘢𝘺 for all Filipinos. DEPDev-DRCAD
